Texas License to Carry (LTC)
At Mid-Texas Lionheart Training Cohort, we offer several ways to obtain your Texas LTC:
Online: Learn from our fully functional and DPS recognized course for $49. This does not include the range certification portion.
Range certification: Our expert instructors will ensure you have the very best opportunity to qualify for your Texas LTC, to include all of the necessary paperwork, for $50. This does not include the online or classroom portion.
In person: Our knowledgeable and professional instructors can answer any questions you may have. This course includes both the classroom instruction and range qualification portions for $85.
The Texas LTC is reciprocal in 38 states, the greatest number of any state's LTC. An out-of-state resident can take the online course and test with us or take the class in person and conduct range qualification together in one day.
Earn your Texas License to Carry (LTC) permit for these benefits:
• Reciprocity: The Texas LTC is recognized in 37 other states, allowing you to carry legally when traveling in
those states.
• Non-resident Licensing: You can have a Texas LTC even if you do not live in Texas, and 32 states allow you reciprocity (more than any other non-resident license).
• Easier Firearm Purchases: With an LTC, you skip the lengthy federal background check when buying a firearm from a licensed dealer in Texas Simply fill out the form and you’re all done!
• Legal Safeguards: An LTC provides additional legal defense, such as the presumption of innocence in certain self-defense situations.
• Training and Confidence: The LTC process ensures you’re well-versed in Texas carry laws and proficient in handling a firearm.
• Carry in More Places: The Texas LTC allows you to carry in more places with fewer restrictions than permitless carry
(AKA Consitutional Carry).
• School Zone Carry: Having an LTC allows you to bypass certain federal gun free school zone laws with additional training.
• Campus Carry: An LTC allows you to carry at all public universities (and many private schools) in Texas, including in the buildings.
• Student Carry: Texas allows 18-year-olds who otherwise pass all legal requirements to have an LTC and legally carry a pistol for their defense on all Texas state universities and colleges.
• Trespass Protections: The Texas LTC allows you to carry past “no gun” or "Gun Buster" signs.
• Carry in Nursing Homes and Hospitals: The LTC allows you to carry in Nursing homes and hospitals that don’t have 30.06 or 30.07 signs posted.
• Government Buildings: Local city and county authorities cannot prohibit license holders from carrying in most state/city/county buildings.
